I’m an alumnus of the Department of Biological Engineering (it was Agricultural Engineering back then) at the University of Missouri. I occasionally include recent news from the department in my blog.
Dr. Allen Thompson is developing a Web-based to aid terrace design. Terraces are embankments used to reduce erosion, typically on agricultural land. Used in conjuction with LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) topography, the application has the potential to quickly develop terrace lay-outs, related water collection and drainage and produce alternative designs.
